Comprehensive Evaluation

We will have you begin by filling out an evaluation sheet to help you understand the style of therapy you are seeking. Here at Deena Hitzke Counseling, we will go at your pace, offering a spectrum of ways to connect to your therapeutic process. Choosing the right person to serve as your psychotherapist, coach, or mentor is one of the keys to success in reaching your goals. Research shows that the greatest predictors of sustainable outcomes from psychotherapy and coaching are:

  • Shared perspectives about the process of change.

  • The ability to build a therapeutic alliance of trust, privacy, and collaboration.

  • A contractual relationship, clearly defining the agreed-upon goals, frequency of sessions, number of sessions, and desired outcomes, toward making a solid commitment.

After your comprehensive evaluation, you can decide if you want to continue treatment with me, or I will help you get referred to someone else.

   What 1:1 Work Is

1:1 psychotherapy provides a dedicated, confidential space to explore your emotional landscape, understand the patterns that influence your life, and develop the ability to regulate your nervous system in real-time.

Deena integrates evidence-based therapeutic modalities—including CBT, ACT, mindfulness-based interventions, and parts-informed work—with somatic techniques that support nervous-system regulation and body awareness. This combined approach helps clients shift out of automatic survival responses, build resilience, and create meaningful, sustainable change.

Clients may seek 1:1 work for a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD-related challenges, trauma recovery, existential questions, and all forms of grief (anticipatory, ambiguous, relational, and identity-related). Deena provides individualized treatment planning and collaborative guidance tailored to each client’s unique goals, strengths, and lived experience.

What Sessions Typically Include -

  • Nervous system assessment + grounding techniques

  • Mind-body connection practices (breath, micro-movement, felt-sense work)

  • Emotional processing + narrative integration

  • Skill-building for everyday regulation

  • Personalized homework or somatic practices between sessions

  • Optional integration with The Mindful Den experiences

Who This Is For -

  • Individuals wanting consistent emotional support

  • People healing from trauma or chronic stress

  • Neurodivergent individuals seeking tools that work with their nervous system

  • Artists, creatives, helpers, caregivers, and high achievers

  • Anyone wanting a deeper sense of clarity, safety, and self-trust

Group Therapy/ Coaching

Our groups are a supportive space where healing happens in community. Together, we explore emotional patterns, practice nervous-system regulation, and learn from one another’s stories. With guided somatic tools and structured conversation, each session helps you build confidence, connection, and embodied resilience.

Group work is especially helpful for anxiety, trauma, life transitions, burnout, and emotional overwhelm. You’ll leave each session with practical skills, grounded support, and the experience of not navigating it all alone.
